Unipolar electrograms are electrical biomarkers indicative of cardiac tissue with arrhythmogenic properties. Innovation in electrogram processing techniques may yield novel insights into the pathogenesis of cardiac arrhythmias and identify novel targets for anti-arrhythmic therapies.
The biobank of uniPolar EpicARdial eLectrograms (PEARL) contains a worldwide unique set of unipolar, atrial and ventricular potentials recorded by custom-made high density (2mm) and resolution (0.45) electrode arrays. This database serves as golden standard for less- and non-invasive mapping techniques with lower densities and/or resolutions.
The data in the PEARL biobank was obtained from more than 1,500 adult and pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery for various cardiovascular diseases, including coronary-, valvular-, congenital- heart diseases and cardiomyopathies. Patients are added to this database on a daily base.
