Dr. Mathijs van Schie receives Dekker Grant

Dr. Mathijs van Schie, a prominent member of the Unit Translational Electrophysiology - Department of Cardiology, has been granted the Dekker Clinical Scientist Grant by the Dutch Heart Foundation to support his research on the arrhythmogenic changes underlying progression of Atrial Fibrillation. By using Explainable AI on electrical signals recorded directly from the surface of the heart, he aims to enhance the understanding of the substrates underling AF progression in an explainable way, laying the groundwork for more effective, personalized therapies.
