Imaging bio-electric data lays the groundwork for effective scientific communication of research outcomes and allows for the opportunity to bring scientific findings directly into the clinic. We therefore develop various software packages in order to improve the visualization of bio-electric data.
For research purposes we developed, and are actively expanding, an interactive software package that allows for the analysis and visualization of bio-electric data. We are able to look at individual potentials as well as create an overall activation pattern of the entire mapped area.
Another software package that we are working on is being used to acquire bio-electric data from epicardial data acquired during cardiac surgery. While in the past these epicardial mapping data acquisition programs solely acquired the signals and only visualized the signals itself, we are now also developing methods to perform data analysis in real time. This could enable us to develop methods to improve/reduce the risk of certain procedures.
